Power Outage
A blown fuse on the Acar “protector” power strip on my desk takes out power in the whole office. Nice. No equipment was damaged, but we had to call the power company helpline to send us someone who is authorized to touch the main fuse (it’s kept in a sealed box). Silly stuff that took two hours to fix. Fortunately, most of the office is on MacBooks. Unfortunately, the UPSes...

Why Did I Switch from troff to LaTeX?
The main reason was the ease of compiling references and indexes. My books have too many of them to effectively manage under troff.
Still, I have a soft spot for troff in my heart and will no doubt use it some day again.

The microblogging services I’m using. Twitter is about 100 character short of what I usually want to type. Looks like Tumblr.com and Soup.io will be my weapons of choice.
